Who can see the information I upload?

OnePassport is a private record for you. No one can see the information in it unless you share the information with them. You can also choose which information goes to which organisations you share with. For example, you might share certain employment and education history with an employer, but share different information with your registration body or union.

Can people search for me?

No. OnePassport is a closed system. No one can search for you.

Can you sell my email or information?

No, we cannot. We operate under the privacy laws in each country. Though the laws differ slightly in different ways, they generally have language that says that the platform provider (OnePassport) can only use the information for the purposes that it was given to us. Therefore, as this is an online ePortfolio and Skills passport, all we can do is securely hold it for you and provide methods for you to share it with the third parties you choose to share it with.

Can you use my information?

We cannot use your personal information. What we can do is create deidentified Big Data info that we share with the government and universities for research and community planning purposes. Such as “how many women who work in aged care were born overseas”. This data has all personal identifiers removed before it is allowed to be used by anyone.

Where is my information held?

OnePassport’s data is all held securely between the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure. So the security holding your data is world leading. The actual locations of the data are frequently governed by the laws of the land from which we received the data. For example, Australian law says that data on Australian workers must be held in databases within the country of Australia. So all Australian workers’ data is held in a primary site with multiple redundancies within Australia.

Yes. OnePassport supports the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Especially Goal 8 - the right to quality work for all people.

So OnePassport was designed to put the power of destiny into the hands of the individual. To empower them to manage their own HR info. To support them in moving between jobs, between industries and even between countries without having to start again.

How do I use OnePassport?

You start by entering and uploading about yourself and your employment and education history. Including languages, registrations, skills and many other pieces of information. Once it is in OnePassport, you can start sharing it with third-party organisations for employment or membership. You can also start using the verification processes to verify both previous events as well as to start collecting verified data moving forward.

How do I share my OnePassport with an employer?

There are two ways to connect your OnePassport with an employer or other organisation. You can share your data as a CV during an application process. Followed by them scanning your connection link and importing your data into their HR system once you get a job or join the organisation.

The second method is when the organisation emails you a OnePassport connection request. If you don’t have your own OnePassport, the request will walk you through setting up your own OnePassport. If the system sees that you already have a OnePassport, it will ask you if you want to connect it to the organisation that emailed you the connection request.

Can I share OnePassport to multiple employers at the same time?

Yes. OnePassport was designed for the modern mobile worker who needs to connect to multiple employers, industry bodies, alumni organisations, unions and potentially multiple other organisations all at the same time. Each organisation that connects with you is listed on your dashboard. So you ca clearly see each connection. You can also cancel those connections once they are no longer needed

How do I verify my information?

OnePassport connects to various third-party verification providers in the different countries in which we operate. These providers can do everything from background checks such as police checks; to verifying education and employment history; to confirming your registration or accreditation with industry bodies, regulatory bodies, etc. OnePassport also connects to various education and HR systems that allow OnePassport to receive verified education in real time. For example, that you are currently working as a chef at a particular restaurant. That verified information is added to your OnePassport, creating a verified employment history. So the system has processes for both verifying past events as well as collecting verified information moving forward.

Can I use OnePassport with my industry body?

A number of industry bodies use OnePassport for managing their members. This can include registration, accreditation and credentialing; as well as showing your skills via a Scope of Practice, Skills Matrix or VOC (verification of competencies) system.

Do I still need to pay industry body membership fees?

If you are using OnePassport with your industry body and the industry body charges a fee, you will still have to pay the fee. OnePassport is designed to make it easier for you and to empower you. Not to avoid paying membership fees.
